The Sawtooth Music Festival was conceived late one night in 2005 via the momentary drunken genius of local river guides. Their combined love of music, the Stanley area, and biting off more than they can chew, has culminated into an annual festival dedicated to bringing an eclectic mix of music to Idaho, while showcasing the amazing beauty of the Sawtooth Mountains. Committed to the growth and prosperity of the Stanley Basin, each year festival organizers (aforementioned river guides along with a few people who actually know what they’re doing) choose a local non-profit as the festival beneficiary. As a testament to the captivating power of the Sawtooth Mountain Range and the ridiculously good times had by all, the festival is run entirely on the blood and sweat of hard-working volunteers who travel from all over the country to be part of this unique event.
